The desire for a partnership began in 2023 when the founder of Taqueria Arandas and president of the Skylah Granito De Arena Foundation, was inspired to collaborate with Shriners Children’s Texas after seeing a commercial. She immediately encouraged her team to reach out to the hospital and explore ways they could support children in the Houston area. While the foundation operates an orphanage in Mexico, its founder believed it was equally important to serve the local community.
After touring the hospital, it became evident that both Arandas Franchises and Shriners Children’s Texas shared a common mission: providing compassionate, innovative care to children. Recognizing this shared goal, the Skylah Granito De Arena Foundation contributed $30,000 to the hospital, supporting Shriners Children’s commitment to offering specialized medical care to children worldwide, regardless of financial or insurance barriers.
Looking ahead to 2024, Arandas Franchises will further strengthen this partnership by launching a register round-up campaign across all 34 locations, during the month of October. They will also promote the collaboration by displaying posters and tabletop tents featuring information about Shriners Children’s Texas in their restaurants. Additionally, a feature on Shriners Children’s Texas will be included in Magazine Arandas, distributed with all to-go and bakery orders, encouraging patrons to donate. Their printed materials will also contain a QR code, allowing customers to easily join Arandas Franchises in supporting the hospital.
