Works of Heart – Meet Relic from Shreveport!

Relic has a passion for video games, drawing, and making people laugh, he’s even a bit of a stand-up comic. Diagnosed with scoliosis at age 8, he began treatment at Shriners Children’s Shreveport, where his care team developed a plan that included bracing and therapy to help straighten his spine and reduce pain. Through hard work, determination, and the support of his family and care team, Relic has made tremendous progress and continues to return for follow-up care as he grows. Now walking taller and moving more freely, he enjoys spending time on the things he loves. His journey is a powerful example of resilience, courage, and the life-changing impact of specialized pediatric care.

This October, Shriners Children’s partnering with Life is Good to bring our patients’ artwork to life! You can purchase a t-shirt with your favorite artwork, including Relic’s, and show your support all year long. Every tee sold gives back to the mission of Shriners Children’s and helps fund Playmaker training for Shriners Children’s staff to ensure kids have the most joyful, engaging, and healing hospital experiences imaginable.
